Mike Serovey Defeats Sean McKinney for a Second Time

Here is another ICC correspondence chess game I recently finished. I attempted to play the Max Lange attack but got steered into a Two Knights defense instead. Black played a Queen sacrifice that turned out to be unsound and was down material when he resigned. This win gives me a plus record at ICC and my highest correspondence chess rating so far.

This game, complete with analysis and diagrams, can be found at http://www.mikeseroveyonchess.com/SeanMcKiney-Italian.html. Here is the game in PGN.

Mike Serovey Defeats ThreeofSeven Yet Again

I finished my third game with ThreeofSeven yesterday. This is an interesting game because my opponent was threatening a mate in one for about 10 moves but never got to play the mating move because his own King was too exposed to my checks. He made me play this one out to checkmate instead of resigning. This is my third win against ThreeofSeven and it gives me my highest correspondence rating so far.

The game, complete with analysis and diagrams, can be found at http://www.mikeseroveyonchess.com/ThreeofSeven-Pirc.html. Here is the game in PGN.

Mike Serovey Defeats ThreeofSeven Again

Here is an ICC correspondence chess game that I just finished. This is my second win against ThreeofSeven (AKA Dave from Castle Rock, CO). I still have one more game against Dave going and I am winning that one too. This win put my ICC correspondence chess rating over 1600 (1611), which was one of my chess goals for this year. It also gives me a plus score in ICC correspondence chess for the very first time!

Mike Serovey Draws Paul Farb

This is the second game I found in which I drew an expert. This appears to be the first time that I did that. This game was played in Germany back in 1986 when I was in the Army stationed there. The analysis and diagrams for this game can be found at http://www.mikeseroveyonchess.com/PaulFarb-English.html. Here is the game in PGN.
